Your Role and Responsibilities
Put your technical leadership, architecture and industry expertise to work helping some of Canada’s largest accounts as a Client Technical Leader.
As the Client Technical Leader, you are the senior technical leader on the account(s) you are assigned to, responsible for leading the overall technology strategy and key initiatives to win the key architectural decision points You will develop and maintain proven, trusted client relationships at all levels within the client's organization and be recognized both as the client’s trusted advisor as well as the technical conscience of the IBM team.
The Client Technical Leader will engage in business level conversations with senior executives to help advance the client’s innovation agenda around strategic IBM offerings, technology and platforms- such as Cloud, AI/Cognitive, Analytics, Security, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Design Thinking and digital customer experience.
You will provide technical leadership during the whole sales cycle. As a strategic thinker and business influencer, you will understand the client’s business and technical requirements and represent how the entire IBM portfolio can contribute to the strategic goals of your clients and drive additional business value while expanding IBM’s business. You will be key to helping differentiate IBM’s solutions given the client’s requirements and to remove inhibitors through hands-on demonstration of IBM capabilities.
You will lead and integrate the cross-line of business technical sales effort in pursuit of innovative solution design, addressing client requirements, setting a vision, facilitating presentations, demos and workshops, creating business solutions, and recommending an execution plan (roadmap) and implementation techniques to address the client’s strategy.
Criteria for success include growth of IBM revenue, establishment of client relationships, client satisfaction, client adoption of IBM strategic initiatives, opportunity identification and progression, development of innovative client solutions, and leading the IBM technical sales teams in their territory.
The Client Technical Leader is the technical counterpart to the IBM Client Executive.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experienced in articulating and applying IBM’s POV and capabilities in key strategic areas such as Cloud, AI, Data, Blockchain and Security to address client challenges and business objectives
At least 5 years of technical sales experience in a client-facing role (pre-sales, delivery or consulting)
At least 3 years of experience in building and maintaining business and technical client relationships with C- level and key decision makers/influencers
Experienced in technical strategy, designing, architecting, and implementing solutions
Strong executive presence, communications and interpersonal skills.
Experienced in leading, facilitating workshops, white board discussions, demos and proof-of-concepts
Depth in an industry vertical and its primary business objectives/key performance indicators
Demonstrated leadership in engaging IBM’s technical community cross-functionally to progress a key client opportunity.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Design Thinking skills
Demonstrated hands-on (applied) technical skills with the latest technologies e.g. Microservices, Docker/Kubernetes , Watson APIs, Analytics, Cloud Security, DevOps.
Certified in Architect professions
