Your Role and Responsibilities
Corporate Legal Investigations (“Investigations”) is responsible for handling privileged and sensitive investigations of matters that present significant legal or financial risks to the company. You will be part of a team that handles such matters that arise globally, but your primary focus is Greater China.
As a member of Investigations team, you will work in close collaboration with our Legal, Trust and Compliance as well as Internal Audit teams to ensure that investigations are properly structured and conducted and interacts widely with other internal functions across the company. Investigations provides regular reports on status of investigations to the Trust & Compliance and Legal Management teams and also, summaries for the company’s senior management and audit committee.
In the course of Investigations’ work, you will deal with not just company employees but also, external parties, including government authorities such as law enforcement, police and similar local institutions at a global basis wherever the company and its group of companies, operate.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
You will need to have had a minimum of 12 years of working experience and at least 3 of those spent in role(s) where you have gained relevant legal and/or investigations experience from similar in-house positions, outside counsel positions and/or regulatory authority positions. A typical candidate thus has some experience from white collar practice such as criminal investigations, regulatory investigations and/or internal investigations work. Qualification in Law is ideal but not mandatory.
You will also need to have demonstrated experience working on investigations where you have shown:
• ability to set out and coordinate, if not lead, such investigation;
• good interviewing skills
• ability to distill key information and identify further issues from data collected and reviewed;
• good judgement.
