IBM Transition Manager: IT Transition Services in Bangalore, India

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • The Candidate will be part of Central Transition CoE and will be awarded a Transition Execution project as per contract in a Senior Role equivalent to the Program Manager.

  • will be responsible for creation and implementation of Overall Transition Project plan which aligns with the project charter, in accordance with the goals and timing set by contractual obligations; specified by the solutioned costs, agreed timelines, manage risk assessment with stakeholders, in accordance to the IBM Transition methodology.

  • will contribute significantly to continuously improve the transition methodology and toolkit, ensuring lessons learned and driving consistent, risk managed, optimized transitions

  • will be responsible for identifying knowledge transition components along with the SMEs, scoping and planning knowledge transition sessions for transfer of knowledge from incumbent to new providers.

  • will be responsible for ensuring knowledge is properly captured by the team, recorded in documents like AID and disseminated to the new team members.

  • In Service Transition Management, the candidate will be responsible for inheriting as is service delivery processes, performing a maturity assessment of current processes in line with ITIL framework and creating a plan for To-Be process state. The Service Transition manager is also expected to compile/ update process documentation for standard delivery processes e.g. Incident, Change, Problem, Release, Configuration management processes

  • will be responsible for setting up the performance measurement framework to enable SLA/ KPI reporting in line with contractual obligations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Should be able manage Transition Program reporting to various stakeholders, driving governance setup and effective execution, approval and signoff.

  • shouldensure transparent/timely reporting on the progress, success and risks/issues of the program to leadership

  • Should be able to l actively manage risks and issues by collaborating across work streams

  • Must be able to report on transition metrics like coverage of KT topics, progress of hands on work by the new team etc.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Should ensure Transition tooling is managed and maintained on an ongoing basis, so that the deliverables and KPIs conforms to the quality assurance and can be tracked for audit purpose

  • shoould be able to consolidate, review and update benefits and share challenges and lessons learnt

  • Should ensure relationship management of internal and external stakeholders

  • should build supportive, productive and trusted working relationships and communicate and collaborate as per IBM guidelines
