Your Role and Responsibilities

Linux on Z and LinuxONE organization is looking for technical product manager t o drive the growth of our IBM Linux on Z Stack and Hybrid Cloud strategy portfolio. An ideal candidate would be an entrepreneurial, adaptable, analytical, persuasive, empathetic, tenacious, and creative problem solver, who is well versed in both business and technology concepts. We are specifically looking for candidates with substantial exposure to Hybrid Cloud products offerings and should carry out technical analysis of the products when deployed on LinuxONE vs the x86 Intel platform. Technical expertise is critical to be successful in this role. Desirable to have hands on experience with the Hybrid Cloud technologies like RedHat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, Linux on Z and IBM LinuxONE Software deployments, creating the use cases to deploy the SW on the platform architecture . Appetite to learn Hybrid Cloud Architecture setup deployments.

Responsibilities:

We're looking for Technical Product Manager who will own improving ROI, TCO and finding innovative ways to attract new customers, retain existing ones, and increase customer lifetime value. Expertise in developing a seamless, self-service funnel from acquisition through to monetization is essential, as this role bridges Product Management, CPO, Product Development team. You'll work with Hybrid Cloud SME's and experts and other cross functional stakeholders across Hybrid Cloud LinuxONE teams to do a comparative analysis of various products enabled and supported on the IBM Z platform architecture and should be able to identify the workloads in a specific Cloud Pak and then identify the workloads pattern to enable it on IBM Z by identifying the HW resources needed to perform the TCO analysis. Work collaboratively and take the functional guidance and direction from the Linux on Z PM Lead supporting the platform offerings on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of either Product Management or Product Development experience, with responsibility for researching, developing, and managing the lifecycle of offerings on IBM Systems (Exposure to IBM Z is preferrable)

  • Exposure to Cloud technologies, Enterprise Platforms, Open source, Data science, and Database management technologies

  • On-Prem Product Development would be an added advantage

  • Expertise in Analytics, including defining and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Good Understanding of IBM Software Stack and underlying technologies.

  • Deep understanding of CPU, Memory and Storage and Virtual cores concepts in order to relate to the TCO and Core consolidation concepts would be highly desirable

  • Overall should be able to understand and execute the TCO and ROI specific conversations in the Hybrid Cloud Context

  • Should be able to collaborate with the Technical Architects in understanding the product capability and should be able to create an use case and work towards the TCO study keeping the customer in mind the platform differentiation

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • A driven, resourceful, and resilient approach, with a track record of achieving results.

  • Comfort with making tough decisions and the agility to act swiftly.

  • Experience using tools such as Aha!, Jira, Github, and Mural

  • Experience with 'Design thinking' and building highly engaging and intuitive software
