Your Role and Responsibilities

Who you are:

The position is for skilled test professionals to perform Cloud Testing for IBM Cloud Platform. They will perform testing on the various features IBM is enabling for the Customers on different Power Servers and also on different OS (AIX, Linux, RHEL, SLES) flavours.

What you'll do:

Employees will be working closely with Development and Functional test organization in defining the test planning, scoping the valid scenarios for Line Items/Features. Employees will also work on troubleshooting and debugging customer field issues and incorporating test cases/updating existing test cases to further strengthen the test plan to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction.

Teamwork is expected to be of the highest quality.

How we'll help you grow:

As an System Software Test Specialist you will be working in a highly dynamic team of PowerVC/PowerVS developers. You will perform Solution Test on Pre-GA and Post-GA versions of Cloud Features on variant of Power servers. You will have a stimulating team environment that will help you learn the following -

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 8+ years of Industry experience.

• Sound knowledge on Operating System Test experience with AIX/Linux (any OS flavor).

• Write and execute test plans with the ability to ensure proper coverage based on customer requirements and workloads, and perform regression testing (Experience in JIRA is a plus)

• Proficient in Python, Shell scripting, Perl (Experience in Django, Pytest, and Robot Test Framework)

• Strong Automation tools knowledge using Pythong (Selenium, Terraform, Ansible) is desired

• Knowledge of end-to-end Jenkins jobs and management

• Strong UNIX Administration skills (Install/Manage OS, Filesystems/LVM, AIX/Linux Commands, IO, PowerVM functionalities). IBM Power Systems exposure preferred

• Working experience with Cloud Technologies ( front end and back end), with Docker, Kubernetes exposure preferred

• Ability to handle testing and debugging tasks independently

• Strong team player with good communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills

• Good knowledge on cloud features

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• C or Java Programming, Python, Shell Script

• Experience in JIRA

• Knowledge of Rational SDLC Tools (RTC, CQ)

• Knowledge of Cloud Development and Testing

About Business UnitThe Servers & Storage Systems Assurance organization is responsible for ensuring the quality and customer satisfaction of Z, Power, and Storage hardware and software products developed by IBM. This mission includes product integration, test, early programs, field quality analysis and response and compliance to regulator requirements around the world
