Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Security solutions is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to focus on the North America team.

As an IBM Security Technical Sales Specialist, you assume technical leadership and responsibility for designing and selling security solutions that allow our clients to respond to modern threats using tools included in Cloud Pak for Security (Resilient and Case Manager).

This is a customer facing role and the candidate must be comfortable and confident working with IT and Line of Business Executives and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role with IBM sales teams and business partners.

Candidates must live in the Continental United States


  • Maintain a demonstrated knowledge of the specialty sales processes, techniques, and tools, and advises others on their use.

  • Act as the subject matter expert on IBM Resilient's Security Orchestration and Response (SOAR) functionality both in Cloud Pak for Security and as a standalone product

  • Analyze IT security requirements of enterprise clients, select IBM solutions, demonstrations, client workshops and presentations, quotes and pricing, and other proposal development activities.

  • Maintain knowledge of competition's offerings, strategies, and plans.

  • Differentiate IBM's SOAR capabilities from competitive alternatives and creates customer preference for IBM Security Software offerings, based on that differentiation.

  • Negotiate with multiple levels of customer management, resulting in closing of the sale.

  • Anticipate complex problems relating to specialty offerings, customer sales engagements, and business unit sales results.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Solid knowledge of Security operations (security operations center, threat hunting, response)

  • Solid knowledge of maintain security focused products (SIEM, response, threat hunting tools)

  • Basic understanding of how integration with other products into Cloud Pak for Security work and the technical ability to build connectors.

  • Possess good product demonstration and customer engagement skills

  • Solid knowledge of IBM Resilient, writing playbooks, and expertise with creating integrations

  • Bachelor's Degree or possess a Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3 years experience building playbooks and integration for Resilient

  • 3 years experience working in a Security Operations Center
