Your Role and Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a SaaS Portfolio Leader to be at the forefront of the as-a-service revolution inside IBM Data and AI. As a portfolio leader, you will be responsible for

leading strategy and execution for the next generation of Data and AI as-a-service capabilities. You will work closely with Product Management, Development, and Sales to:

  • Shape the strategic vision for new and current as-a-service products by working closely with designers, developers, offering managers and sponsored users

  • Drive growth in as-a-service via software consumption and subscription models

  • Help shape pricing and marketing communication strategy, identify routes to market, and be responsible for enabling the channels on new and existing aaS offerings.

  • Work with IBM Cloud and 3rd party Clouds to ensure adoption and deployment of Data and AI as-a-service offerings

  • Conduct market research and sizing analysis to identify new opportunities for routes to market, then forecast and validate ROI for new initiatives

  • Research and track the current state of the portfolio, competitive product offerings, market trends, and the users of high-end unstructured data analytics software to make strategic recommendations for future product direction

  • Determine holistic strategy for as-a-service, including incentive design

  • Ensure the execution of the as-a-service strategy by deploying change initiatives across 25+ offerings and tracking progress with product segment leaders and GTM execs

  • Lead customer / stakeholder feedback programs to inform the user experience and product requirements for product leaders

  • Work directly with sponsor clients to help shape the as-a-service nature of products

  • Act as an entrepreneur, strategist, cross-functional team leader, and client advocate for the as-a-service model in the business

  • Manage conflicting priorities of different product and sales teams

Successful candidates will possess a unique blend of strategic acumen, business savvy, big-picture vision, user-centric viewpoint, the drive to maximize market opportunities by designing and developing new offerings and capabilities. And most importantly a passion for modernizing the Data and AI software portfolio for as-a-service over the next few years.

Location: Preference will be given to Austin, TX; Littleton, MA; and San Jose, CA

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate strategy or consulting

  • At least 5 years working in the software and technology industry

  • At least 3 years of experience in product management or technical product management or applicable product related fields

  • Strong knowledge of pricing, business strategy, and management of consumption and subscription models

  • Experience in technology marketing and management

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 10 years of experience in corporate strategy or consulting

  • At least 5 years of client facing experience

  • At least 7 years experience in technology strategy, business ops, or product management

  • Proven experience bringing new solutions or offerings to market
