Your Role and Responsibilities
This Product Marketer is a global leader responsible for driving the marketing strategy for IBM's Primary Storage portfolio of software, systems, cloud offerings and services in the B2B enterprise space. This role will work closely with Business Units, Product Management, Product Development, Sales and Support teams and our cloud services partners (Microsoft, Google, AWS, IBM) to identify, implement and execute the go to market strategy for the entire primary storage portfolio. This includes identifying the market opportunity, defining the solutions to take to market, developing marketing messaging, content, and programs, and enabling our sales and channel partners. This is a highly visible, strategic role that will work across the entire IBM organization to position the company and its products, driving awareness, increasing demand, and creating market leadership. The successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator and collaborator with a demonstrated history of working successfully across all levels of an organization, and a strong people leader. This role reports to our VP of Product Marketing for IBM Storage.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Act as a primary spokesperson for IBM's Primary Storage portfolio, internally and externally, working with our Messaging and Communications teams to deliver a compelling narrative on our positioning and offerings
Build and scale a world-class product marketing team with members who are recognized experts in the customers, the products and solutions, and the partnerships that fuel our business
Lead the competitive marketing efforts to provide on-going market intelligence and execute offensive and defensive competitive plays worldwide
Drive ongoing analysis of the market, customers, products, and the competition, including win-loss reporting, message testing, and product usage and adoption analysis
Define personas and buyer journeys utilizing data, research, and insights
Align with the Product Management and Engineering teams to drive strategy around product positioning for existing products, solutions and services and new launches. Bring new products to market, both internally through sales enablement and externally through press, analyst, and influencer outreach and thought leadership programs. Build supporting awareness and demand generation plans
Provide guidance on content strategy and support the content production team in asset development - enabling customers and prospects to easily understand the value proposition, business value, offering capabilities, and differentiation
Partner with the demand gen teams to design integrated customer and prospect journeys that generate awareness and demand. Be proactive in recognizing where pipeline gaps exist and partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver focused campaigns and sales plays to close gaps
Work with sales and business partner leadership teams to develop sales plays and GTM programs that help drive the pipeline, find new buyers, and cross-sell into existing accounts
In partnership with product and customer success teams, develop solution-based offerings focused on solving customer pain. Define solutions based on vertical-industry use cases. Deliver solution marketing programs that include messaging, positioning, and content that drive awareness and demand for solutions
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Product Manager, Technical Marketer, Sales Engineer, Software Developer, Solutions Architect, or Product Marketing Manager
Strong domain knowledge in key technology areas (at least two of the following): Block, File, Object, Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud Architectures, Datacenter Architectures, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, Data Management, Data Governance, Data Security, Data Analytics, Data Pipelines, Enterprise Search, Backup and Recovery, Archive, Virtualization, Kubernetes, as-a-Service, etc.
Demonstrable ability to create unique, clear, creative, bold, and compelling technical marketing messages and product messaging that can be easily translated into business value/business outcome messages
Experience in selling, marketing, supporting, or implementing enterprise-level technology solutions - especially in hybrid cloud models and/or big data
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills are an absolute must, with a proven ability to deliver product and solutions presentations and training that is creative, compelling, through provoking and relevant
Experience building high-performing teams, growing and retaining top-talent, effective goal setting and measuring for success
Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and market needs and translate into effective messaging and content for business and technical audiences.
Self-starter with strong problem solving and cross-functional skills, the ability to think and work strategically, and execute as both a leader and as an individual contributor
Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring to life the product. You are at the center of our entire organization, constantly interacting with teammates and partners.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
An MBA would be a plus, but not required
Be an extremely results-oriented and creative collaborator focused on results and KPIs that align to revenue goals

Provem ability to manage multiple projects, programs and priorities
