Your Role and Responsibilities


IBM Cloud & Cognitive Software is looking for a product manager to drive greater adoption and market success of its open hybrid cloud and AI-powered Enterprise products & solutions

In this role, you'll play a central role in go-to-market strategy and execution to drive greater market reach and market success. This position requires a solid business background, and the candidate should be customer-focused.

An ideal candidate would be entrepreneurial, adaptable, analytical, persuasive, empathetic, tenacious, and creative problem solver, who is exposed to, and is well versed in, both business and technology concepts.

We are specifically looking for candidates with priori experience or in-depth exposure in Hybrid Cloud, SaaS, Enterprise Networking, Network Automation, Open source software, Telecoms and OSS technologies.

This role requires collaboration and coordination across external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of our organization.

You will work closely with our customers, business partners (GSIs, ISVs, VARs), sales and other IBM cross functional stakeholders on go-to-market activities.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must have exceptional communication skills, strong business judgment.

The Go-To-Market Product Manager must have the experience and the ability to:

  • Understanding the market segments we compete in, the buyers we sell to, the clients we service, the influencers we engage with, and the competitors we face.

  • Articulate market problems, define market opportunity, revenue potential, research users, customer validation, and analyze competitive landscape

  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans

  • Drive product launch, public relations, and analyst relations effort

  • Contribute to message development, to the value propositions for our products, translating technical capabilities into understandable and compelling stories.

  • Working with Sales & Marketing, enable field teams, partners and customers around the world

  • Team with IBM and non-IBM technology partners as it relates to their technology being leveraged as part of IBM solutions

  • Work collaboratively with product/sales/marketing leaders and provide feedback loop

  • Establish goals and review metrics to plan and deliver success, and then measure (everything)

Some of the skills we are looking for:

  • Self-starter with proven record to deliver customer and business outcomes

  • Experience conducting primary and secondary research regarding your service areas with prospects and customers.

  • Knowledge of how to keep a regular pulse on the market needs.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional virtual teams to achieve business objectives

  • Proven ability to synthesize complex issues and opinions into simple stories

  • Attention to details, ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements

  • Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion in an iterative way

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of either product management, product marketing, sales engineering, management consulting or strategy

  • Demonstrated business leadership and technical acumen

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in Enterprise Networking, Hybrid Cloud, SaaS, Enterprise Networking, Network Automation

  • Demonstrated presentation & presentation skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of either product management, product marketing, management consulting, strategy, Business development or technology monetization roles.

  • Prior experience in designing Enterprise Software Go-To-Market blueprints, preferably SaaS

  • Prior in-depth exposure in Enterprise Networking and Data Center Networking

  • Candidates who previously worked with Global Service Providers, Network Equipment Providers, Cloud Providers in Enterprise segments

  • Candidates with an MBA
