IBM Offering Manager in Austin, Texas

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Enterprise Applications Management team is seeking an Offering Manager to enable and lead ERP Managed Services offerings public clouds. The organization is looking for a highly motivated, technical Offering Manager who is an adaptable, creative problem solver with strong organizational aptitude.

The Offering Manager acts as an entrepreneur, strategist, technical visionary, cross-functional team leader, and client advocate. An Offering Manager has two primary responsibilities: (1) defining the new offering to be built; and (2) managing its development, launch, and ongoing improvement.

To fulfill these responsibilities, an Offering Manager leads a cross-functional team. Typically, however, none of the team members report directly to the Offering Manager. An Offering Manager influences the actions of diverse cross-functional team as the market authority, acting as a "General Manager" for their scope of the business. The employee Influences the functional strategy.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Continually develop and manage a roadmap based on customer demand of new capabilities

  • Study market intelligence data to understand the competitive landscape and the capabilities of our key competitors

  • Work with architects to convert business needs and requirements to service features and enhancements

  • Negotiations with various partners, resulting in common agreements

  • Innovate and manage go-to-market strategy

  • Drive awareness of services to multiple internal and external consumers

  • Lead offering positioning, pricing, and delivery to the marketplace

  • Perform win/loss analysis, gather customer feedback and analyze market data to validate product strategy

  • Professional knowledge of function, business unit or country operations. Understand organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies.

  • Analyze complex/new situations, anticipate potential problems and future trends, assess opportunities, impacts, and risks

  • Lead projects or programs involving multi- functional, country-wide or regional teams.

  • Leads multi-functional teams, or conducts special projects, or manages department(s) (national or international). Has vision of functional or unit mission.

  • Influences people and organizations, including executive management, when issues are complex/difficult and require considerable diplomacy. Considerable latitude in responsibilities to define and decide on tools, processes, priorities and resources following general business unit directives.



Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with ERP latest technologies - architecture, deployment planning, operations, solutioning or consulting

  • Minimum 3 years' experience developing solutions with ERP technology on a public cloud platform (IBM Cloud, Azure, AWS)

  • Experience working with clients, technical sellers, solution architects, etc.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Proven organizational and presentation skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Prior experience in product or offering management for managed services

  • Cost estimation and analysis

  • Operations, engineering, solutioning or development experience

  • Sales or business development experience

  • Direct line of report management of people

  • Experience utilizing Design Thinking methodologies

  • Cloud specific foundational certifications
