System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. Your Role and Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator-Distributed Backup Recovery professional would be responsible for providing Backup/Recovery administration support and ability to configure and support backup application. Daily tasks include (but not limited to): scheduling and monitoring backups, performing problem determination on failed backups and backup application, data/filesystem restores, reporting daily and monthly measurements, daily health checks of the environment, managing incidents, problems and changes within guidelines, maintaining code levels of the BUR application, maintaining documentation and attending scheduled meetings, security/audit readiness, project work (as required), etc. Candidate must have current Backup/Recovery skills, basic knowledge of multiple operating systems, capable of responding to escalations from the client and Account Team and resolving high priority issues within SLA MTTR.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Installation, Configuration and Administration of CommVault.
CommVault firewall configuration and deployment.
CommVault policy-drive backup/restore architecture and best practices.
CommServe, Media Agents and clients.
Configuring Storage Policies and copies for de-duplicated disk and tape libraries.
Configuring Schedules and Schedule Policies for data management and administrative functions.
Installation and configuration of disk and tape libraries.
Working knowledge in RAID, storage arrays and Hierarchical Storage Management
Unix and/or Windows systems administration experience
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
Ability to perform in a stressful environment
Previous backup & recovery administration in a diverse environment
Coverage includes 24x7 pager support
Must be able start work day by 8:00am ET or before
