Your Role and Responsibilities
Watson Health is a series of acquisitions that have been integrated into IBM over many years. It's a large, broad portfolio of offerings spanning health stakeholders, services, and data assets. It targets most of the largest value pools where data and analytics can decrease waste and inefficiency.
WH's 2020+ strategy has elements of it driving to unification of WH across health market segments and designing and implementing a scalable technology approach for the future. This includes but is not limited to driving technology unification across the market segments, integrating products together driving enterprise impact, and leveraging broader IBM capabilities for scale. Enabling a cloud-based analytics, AI, and automation enabled health platform.
In order to pull this off, we are hiring Lead Engineers and Senior Technical Staff Members to be change agents. This role would drive significant change to WH engineering and offering teams, driving utilization of leading edge technology in its products, services, processes or tools. Specifically: driving a re-invention of WH and it’s offerings, to hybrid/multi-cloud native leveraging OpenShift, Spark, Hadoop, Graph and other BigData technologies using inner source and open principles.
It's a must to possess strong exec-level communication skills and possess an insatiable drive to win in the market, by leading deeply technical architecture guilds, coaching engineers to expand their horizons for themselves and IBM Watson Health through quality code and SDLC processes, and by driving offering managers to understand their responsibilities to create differentiated, marketable features with clear acceptance criteria that engineers can deliver to.
This will require deep knowledge of agile advances including inner source principles driving to maximizing code re-use bottoms up. The individual must contribute to the advancement of science and/or business engineering through meeting with clients, partners, presenting at conferences, and be successful in patent application and copyright programs. The individual must develop and implement product, market, business, or technology strategies with executive review, and set a strategic vision. Should be a policy maker, not a policy participant.
Preferred locations include: Raleigh, NC or Cambridge, MA.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years experience using hybrid/multi-cloud native leveraging OpenShift, Spark, Hadoop, Graph and other BigData technologies using inner source and open principles.
Deep knowledge of agile advances including inner source principles driving to maximizing code re-use bottoms up.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years healthcare and/or predictive analytics and/or related consulting, using statistical methods and metrics.
5+ years understanding industry issues and problems, relating them to client needs, and proposing appropriate solutions
