IBM Senior Cloud Architect - AWS in Atlanta, Georgia

Your Role and Responsibilities

At IBM Services our Complex Solution Architects (CSA) provides services to clients in the solutioning and delivery of complex projects/programs for cloud and non-cloud environment, including complex application and/or system integration projects. CSAs work with the business as well as IT to breakdown complex business problems into software or process solutions.

IBM Services is looking for strong CSAs with extensive experience in defining and building solution in AWS. The CSA should have technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. He/She should be passionate about working with customers to help build applications at scale in the AWS Cloud. Enabling Innovation through AWS services and having breadth across technology stacks with deep hands on skills is a must. The CSA will build architectures & provide prescriptive guidance across network, storage, operating systems, virtualization, RDBMS & NoSQL databases, Hadoop, mid-tier technologies that include application integration, in-memory caches, and security. Specialized skills in building Integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint platform in CloudHub (AWS) is desired.

The CSA is expected to have good experience in the below areas

  • Deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Utility Compute Web Services: AWS, VPC, EC2, EBS, SQS, SWF, SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, RedMine and DMS

  • Container and Micro Services Stacks: Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher and Mesosphere

  • OpenShift on AWS, EKS, Lambda Functions

  • Planning Tools: JIRA, GitHub, Stash, Redmine and Rocket Chat

  • Integration Tools: Jenkins, Eclipse, Intelliu, Nexus and Bamboo

  • Testing Tools: Jenkins, HP Fortify, Serenity, Swagger, Cucumber, Selenium, SonarQube, JUnit, Pyunit, Open SCAP and Sensu

  • Deployment Tools: Chef, Puppet, CFEngine, Ansible, Fabric, and GIT, GitHub and Git Lab

  • Search Technologies: Lucene and Elasticsearch

  • Relational Databases: Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, Postgres SQL, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Django, Express.js

  • NoSQL databases: Cassandra, MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, Cloudant

  • Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Tools: Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend and Boomi

  • implementing big data analytics w/ technologies like Hadoop, Spark, EMR, RedShift, and Kinesis.

  • Set technology direction for Cloud solutions

  • Specialties include data management, scripting languages, API and other integrations especially with MuleSoft Anypoint platform CloudHub

  • Manage and implement integrations between internal and external solutions

  • Serves as the technical liaison to the Talent Acquisition product owner

  • Collaborate with domain architecture leadership

  • Author simple, clear requirements through user stories and technical specifications

  • Experience is creating end to end blueprint, estimating the effort, pricing and risk assessment of the solution

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years experience in AWS

  • At least 3 years experience in Container platforms (K8S, OpenShift, EKS) and Service Mesh (e.g. Istio)

  • At least 2 years experience in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

  • At least 3 years experience in designing IaaS, PaaS and SaaS architectures.

  • At least 2 year experience in Service Registries and Cloud brokers

  • At least 2 year experience in designing secure scalable, elastic architectures

  • At least 2 year experience in architecting in enterprises using Agile methodologies

  • At least 2 year experience in decoupled and microservices architectures

  • At least 2 year experience in Stateful and Stateless services

  • At least 2 year experience in web services technologies- Restful services

  • At least 3 year experience in distributed systems, databases and search systems

  • At least 3 year experience in J2EE Platforms: JBOSS, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, WAS

  • At least 3 year experience in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years experience in AWS

  • At least 5 years experience in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

  • At least 5 years experience in designing IaaS, PaaS and SaaS architectures.

  • At least 3 years experience in Service Registries and Cloud brokers

  • At least 3 years experience in designing secure scalable, elastic architectures

  • At least 3 years experience in architecting in enterprises using Agile methodologies

  • At least 3 years experience in decoupled and microservices architectures

  • At least 3 years experience in Stateful and Stateless services

  • At least 3 years experience in web services technologies- Restful services

  • At least 5 years experience in distributed systems, databases and search systems

  • AWS Solution Architect Profession Certification
