IBM Conversational AI Lead (Watson Assistant) in Atlanta, Georgia

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an innovative hands-on leader to own the future of conversational AI in Watson Assistant. Working alongside product management and design you will shape the customer’s experience and oversee full-stack developers that implement this vision.

You will collaborate with multiple squads across the product and work with data scientists, user experience designers, and product managers to understand requirements and create technical architectures. Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of the microservices that make up the conversational AI engine, from requirements gathering, design, development, and testing to continuous integration/deployment and supporting operations. You need to be able to think strategically to develop long-term architectural roadmaps, while continuously delivering new features to make incremental progress.

Location & Travel: Once IBMers are no longer working from home due to COVID-19 this will be an office based position in Littleton, MA or San Jose, CA. Periodic travel may be required for team meetings or industry conferences.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with a chatbot platform (for example, Watson Assistant, Google Dialogflow or Assistant, Amazon Lex or Alexa, Rasa)

  • Proven technical lead with a history of leading large engineering teams

  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics

  • Solid understanding of the trends in Natural Language Processing and Machine learning (both algorithms and runtimes)

  • Industry experience with leading delivery of innovative software products

  • Experience with Java or Python

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with development and delivery of SaaS products

  • Experience with Kubernetes or RedHat OpenShift
