Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Cloud Privileged Remote Access team is growing and looking for DevOps and Automation Engineers. In a recently formed team, you will be responsible for laying out the foundation of a new service designed to provide secure and controlled access to cloud resources for our customers and partners in regulated industries (including the financial services sector).

In their adoption of cloud, large enterprises need to transform their legacy tools and processes into cloud-age concepts. IBM is committed to helping its valued customers in making that transformation. For regulated industries (healthcare, payment, financial services, and others), one of the key aspect of compliance revolves around strict control and traceability of system access, and particularly changes made to them. Providing a readily-available privileged access management solution is a critical component to demonstrate that the configuration of cloud properties matches the baseline, but also enables detection of other unauthorized access to systems and data.

The right candidate particularly thrives in coding and deployment automation, but also has a demonstrated interest for security and governance aspects, preferably with experience. Strong communication skills are a must given the global distribution of our team. As for every member of this team, we're looking here for talented individuals that demonstrate strong teamwork abilities.

Key Duties

  • Implement and automate platform solutions that support secure access to IBM Cloud infrastructure and compute resources

  • Architect the test automation and our pipelines in OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments

  • Deploy and maintain automated CI/CD systems and tools for development and test teams

  • Partner with other teams, managers and program managers to develop alerting and monitoring for mission-critical services

  • Maintain the compliance and security posture of the environment at all times

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Cloud

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud development and operations, on enteprise-grade systems

  • 5+ years of experience in deploying and administering solutions on RedHat (Preferred) or other Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Container technologies: Kubernetes (IKS, GCE), RedHat OpenShift, Docker.

  • Proficiency with several programming tools: Go, bash and/or PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Go, etc.

  • Experience with one or more of the virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of one or more key DevOps foundation tools: Tekton, Travis, Artifactory, and so on.

  • Working knowledge with monitoring technologies: LogDNA, SysDig, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.

  • Working knowledge with Network and Storage technologies

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration

  • Experience with cloud database technologies
