IBM Technical Program Manager - Hybrid Cloud in Armonk, New York

There is no relocation offered and no remote option (post covid).

Our mission in CIO is to create a productive hybrid cloud environment for IBMers. Our strategy is to lead with design and user experience, to engineer the systems that run the business, and to innovate to transform the business.

As a technical program manager for the CIO hybrid cloud team, you will lead several technical cloud programs for the CIO hybrid cloud, setting priorities for features and engineering, leading cross-functional teams, ensuring success metrics are informing future efforts, and quickly fine tuning the program as needed. You will lead several initiatives and will provide direction of day-to-day activities of a dedicated team and technical resources, utilizing agile practices and tools (i.e., JIRA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will coordinate the build, integration and support of the CIO hybrid cloud

  • Employ project management skills, including agile specific concepts like backlog management, tracking burndown and velocity

  • You will facilitate operational work in a transparent, collaborative manner

  • Work across multi-disciplinary teams to remove impediments blocking the completion of work or commitments

  • Work closely with the developers and technical team with the opportunity to pitch in

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 + years of industry experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in technical program/project management

  • 2+ years’ experience leading technical teams

  • 2+ years’ experience working in a technical IT environment with exposure to middleware and cloud

  • 2+ years’ experience with agile methodologies and agile project management

  • Technical background including background in programming

  • Bachelor’s degree CIS, MIS or related field or 5+ years equivalent experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with hands on software development or systems engineering

  • Knowledge of infrastructure, platform, and software as a service cloud platforms

  • Leveraging modern tools to solve technical challenges

  • Cloud networking foundations

  • Cloud security foundations
