IBM Information Architect - Network Engineering in Armonk, New York

This role is located ONSITE (after covid) Armonk, NY

There is no relocation offered and no remote option (post covid).

In this role the candidate will work on business applications supporting Network Engineering Tools and Automation. You will be responsible for creating structural data designs, data modeling, logical to physical design, supporting database environments, database security, and software releases.

You must have demonstrated these skills supporting mission critical systems with high availability. We are building the next generation of Network Tools using first of its kind solutions.

Working in a fast paced dynamic and changing environment you must have shown the ability to independently learn new technologies and apply subject matter expertise in creating the necessary best practices for them.

You will have demonstrated how you have extended yourself to provide first class support and innovative solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of relational database expertise using Db2 LUW, MySQL, PostgreSQL

  • 10+ more years of Data Modeling experience, SQL, ETL

  • 10+ years of hands-on Operating System Support Linux

  • 10+ years of shell scripting in support of database environments

  • 5+ years Agile Project Management Methodologies and Practices

  • Demonstrated knowledge of install and operation of Db2 pureScale

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Expertise in business analyst's role

  • Expertise in Database development lifecycle and coding

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Managing VLDB environments, Data Warehouses, high volume data rate applications

  • Database clustering technologies

  • Database Replication technologies like Galera or similar

  • Coding Database Stored Procedures and Functions

  • Database implementations managing JSON data

  • Implemented Advanced Backup and Recovery Solutions

  • TimeSeries Database expertise like InfluxDB or similar

  • Automation and configuration management solutions like Ansible or similar

  • Working knowledge of Virtualized, Clustered, and Cloud Solutions

  • Working knowledge of Nagios dashboard alerts systems or similar solutions

  • Working knowledge of Spectrum Protect or similar solutions

  • Working knowledge of systems like Jira and Service Now

  • Experience with object orientated programming languages
