As the GBS Cloud Solution Architect you will use your client management skills to navigate client hierarchies and understand competing agendas. The CSA must understand business functions, construct a solution architecture around Microservices and APIs, and be able to decompose monolith applications into meaningful Cloud environments.
With a solid background as an Architect your experience in developing and delivering complex Microservices solutions across multiple technologies and cloud platforms, including Red Hat, AWS, IBM Cloud and Azure are essential.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Be the integrator between the client and IBM teams
Demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing and become a trusted advisor to decision makers throughout an engagement
Analyze and assess existing client application portfolios and shape, sell and deliver appropriate digital modernization pattern-based solutions including the creation of client modernization roadmaps.
Work with clients to define scope of project and determine requirements
Define software, hardware and other requirements
Assist with the design, development, and testing of modernizing applications
Consult with clients on how to best design Cloud High Performance and High Throughput Computing in the Google Cloud Platform
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
AWS cloud compute experience (deployments, migrations, networking)
Deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Jenkins, etc.) and in system administration tasks in Linux, Unix, or Windows.
Utility Compute Web Services: AWS, VPC, EC2, EBS, SQS, SWF, SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, RedMine and DMS
Container and Micro Services Stacks: Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher and Mesosphere
Planning Tools: JIRA, GitHub, Stash, Redmine and Rocket Chat
Integration Tools: Jenkins, Eclipse, Intelliu, Nexus and Bamboo
Testing Tools: Jenkins, HP Fortify, Serenity, Swagger, Cucumber, Selenium, SonarQube, JUNite, Pyunit, Open SCAP and Sensu
Deployment Tools: Chef, Puppet, CFEngine, Ansible, Fabric, and GIT, GitHub and Git Lab
Search Technologies: Lucene and Elasticsearch
Relational Databases: Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, Postgres SQL, AWS RDS, Django, Express.js
NoSQL databases: Cassandra, MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, Cloudant
Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Tools: Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend and Boomi
Set technology direction for Cloud solutions
Specialties include data management, scripting languages, API and other integrations
Manage and implement integrations between internal and external solutions
Serves as the technical liaison to the Talent Acquisition product owner
Collaborate with domain architecture leadership

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud experience
At least 5 years extensive experience as a technical specialist in Customer-facing roles
At least 3 years of experience with Design Thinking, Agile and Extreme Programming
At least 5 years strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
At least 5 years of experience in building decoupled architecture framework for cloud native applications
At least 3 years of experience in designing highly performant and scalable cloud architectures
At least 3 years knowledge of several modern programming languages and open source frameworks
At least 7+ years exceptional communication and presentation skills with demonstrated executive engagement and proven ability to present strategic information to drive change across a broad range of audiences
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
4+ years professional experience in designing, deploying and maintaining IT solutions
Knowledge of SOAP API and/or REST API implementations
Experience with at client side programming language such as .NET, JAVA, PHP, Ruby, Visual Basic, Python, Node JS, Java Script, Angular 2
Knowledge of SQL and database technologies
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug
Experience working in an Agile environment
Must understand to implement integrations
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Client facing experience
Experience developing in a cloud environment
Very strong operational skills
At Least 3 years of Architect Experience Desired
